Since 2016, Egyptian government plan to adopt smart electricity/water/gas meters national widely, the smart electricity meter promotion going quite smooth, since from the technical side and commercial side its in more stable stage, but the smart water meter project met many challenges, because it doesn't have public communication protocols, and the water meter adopts battery as power supply etc. After around five years long running, LAISON and Egyptian partner M&T company finally designed a CPU card prepaid water meter for HCWW (Holding Company of Water & Wastewater), and get the award of 270,000pcs smart water meter contract, and these meters will be delivered from Feb. 2022.
HCWW (Holding Company of Water & Wastewater) is one of the sectors responsible for drinking water supply & waste water treatment for whole Egypt Market. LAISON has set up a professional R&D team to provide customized development of Smart Card Prepaid Water Meter for HCWW, with Arabic Language Display, and integrated smart card with local Bank card, as well as various advanced functions to fully meet the requirement of Egyptian market.
Till today, LAISON already delivered more than 100,000pcs prepaid water meter module to local partner's factory for final assembly and calibration, after that it will be delivered to HCWW soon. Now LAISON already have the 80,000pcs production capacity monthly for this smart meter module, to satisfy HCWW further request which expect 1,500,000pcs in year 2022.
