LAISON Annual Letter To Global Partners

Dear LAISON Global Clients and Partners, 

 

First of all, thanks again for all your supporting to LAISON in 2021, its really a hard year because of COVID-19, almost all of us hurt by the word Delta or Omicron, but we also see the huge efforts on resisting the COVID in everywhere around the world, for protecting our families and friends, we believe human will defeat the virus finally with the vaccine and specific drugs, as we did before. 

 

The epidemic changes many things, we recognized that no matter how developed the science is, we still need awe of nature. The human behaviour either like the war or Over-exploitation of natural resources will also affect the nature, and the technology should be used to improve the environment rather than destroy it. 

 

As a Metering Innovation company, we are thinking deeply how can we help water companies to against the challenges on operation especially when the utilities under the current situation. We understand that the main problems for water companies are the bad infrastructure caused high Non Revenue water, and continuous insufficient fund makes it difficult to improve the service to the families, and we have also aware that because of COVID, the cash flow was going worse in 2021. Thus we think if we want to change the current status it’s a tough task, but not impossible. 

 

Water companies should focus on improve the Water Service, Billing efficiency and reasonable Financing Program together instead of only change one aspect. Many water companies are looking for the fund from World Bank, AFDB, European Investment Bank, or JICA for single water production or distribution project, but the billing not doing well so the investment not get reasonable ROI. Some of water companies import the smart water meters with very high accuracy but still not yet have a digital payment solution, and also there are some companies just feel upset with the high debt without any idea.

 

These existing problems make LAISON more clear on our mission. LAISON must provide a Digitalization Operation Solution (DOS) to water companies which typically includes 1) Reliable and Low Cost Smart Prepaid Water Meters2) Digital Payment Platform LAPIS which Integrate with local Mobile Payment & Bank System and also the Billing system, additionally the 3) SaaS Remote Meter Reading Platform which Supports Installment for all the cost to reduce the pressure of initial investment, Water Companies can afford the payment monthly and last for two or three years, through the history Debt return. 

 

On the good side, we are very glad to see in 2021 there are lots of water companies from Nigeria, Cameroon, Togo, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa etc. Countries have adopted LAISON smart STS prepaid water meter and Digital Payment Platform LAPIS and Remote Meter Reading SaaS platform, especially like in HCWW Egypt, EPAL Angola, DUWASA Tanzania etc. plan to promote the digitalization operation technologies in the whole area . So we sincerely believe that water companies performance will be improved gradually and LAISON will always the right partner for innovation.
